 A City experience: The CCEFR in Montreuil-sous-Bois
In February 2003, Jean-Pierre Brard, deputy and mayor of the city of Montreuil, the fourth city of the Parisian suburb, inaugurated the « Religious Fact Study and Civic Centre », the CCEFR. The idea of creating the CCEFR, an association governed by the law of 1901, was put forward by the Professor Mohammed Arkoun, a specialist in the history of Islamic thinking and member of the commission in charge of the report on secularism. The scientist had met the politician, Jean-Pierre Brard, on several occasions and particularly at the conference on the topic « Knowing Islam » organized in 1992 by the city of Montreuil where the scientist was invited to lecture. . . . .(read the reminder)

The topic of the study presented here is a multi-religious community centre comprising Worship places of the three monotheist religions in the city centre of Bobigny (Seine-Saint-Denis), located on part of the commercial centre near the nerve centre of public transport beside the prefecture.
